Functional hepatocyte-like cells differentiated from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)

The hepatocyte-like cells generated using Dr. Mizuguchi’s more efficient method have characteristics similar to primary human hepatocytes, and show drug-induced cytotoxicity against several compounds. These results suggest that the cells could be used for predicting drug toxicity.
