Teacher Certification Course

At Osaka University, Type 1 certification for being a junior high school teacher, senior high school teacher, or school nurse is conferred in the undergraduate schools, while advanced certification for being a junior high school teacher, senior high school teacher, or school nurse is conferred in graduate schools.

Note: The certification given differs depending on school, graduate school, department, and major.

  • In order to get a teaching certificate, credits necessary must be earned in keeping with the Educational Personnel Certification Law.
  • For details, please contact Student Affairs staff at the Student Affairs Division, Department of Student Affairs or the Education Affairs staff at your faculty.

Teaching Training Booklet

Osaka University has prepared booklets for teacher and nurse training.
There are four booklets:

  1. Invitation to teacher training -- A guidebook for obtaining a teacher's certificate
  2. Steps for a future teacher -- Teacher practice notebook
  3. Becoming a school nurse -- School nurse practice notebook
  4. Nursing care guidebook & log book -- To further deepen one's experiences and learning

Booklet 1 is given to newly enrolled students at the time of teacher course guidance and booklets 2 to 4 are given at the time of actual practice.

The Invitation to teacher training booklet has been provided to all students since 2005. Current students needing this booklet should obtain it from Educational Affairs staff at their school or graduate school.

 

Application for Teacher Certificate
  • Applications for teacher certification are submitted to the Board of Education of each administrative division.
  • The certificate showing the credits earned necessary for making the application is issued by Educational Affairs staff at your school or graduate school. For your reference: Obtaining Certificates for Graduates
  • Osaka University collectively applies for teaching certificates for those who are expected to graduate in March or who complete the 1st semester of a doctor's course.
  • Acceptances for the collective application are scheduled for September - October every year. Details will be posted on the KOAN bulletin board (teaching certification course) as soon as the schedule is finalized.
