Requests for filming/interviews at Osaka University

Advance permission is required when filming/interviewing OU faculty, staff, and students (university members). As a rule, any individual who wishes to film/interview a university member must submit an application 2 weeks in advance at the latest.

For faculty/staff interviews

Interviews regarding research

Please directly contact the administrative department of the graduate school, research institute, or center to which the faculty/staff member to be interviewed belongs. For more information on faculty/staff members at the university, please view the Researchers Database.

If you are unable to ascertain the department to which the researcher belongs, please send an email containing 1) the researcher’s name, 2) your preferred interview date, 3) the content of the interview, 4) the date on which the footage will be used, and 5) the applicant’s information (including contact information) to the Press Section, Public Relations Division, Department of Planning at (houdou[at]office.osaka-u.ac.jp).

Interviews on topics other than research

Please send a completed “Permission Request Form for Interviews at Osaka University” to the Press Section, Public Relations Division, Department of Planning at (houdou[at]office.osaka-u.ac.jp).

For student interviews

Interviews regarding extracurricular activities

Please directly contact the Campus Life and Career Support Division, Department of Education and Student Affairs (Email: gakusei-sien-sa2[at]office.osaka-u.ac.jp / Tel: 06-6850-5022).

Interviews on topics other than extracurricular activities

Please directly contact the school/graduate school to which the student to be interviewed belongs.

If you are unable to ascertain the school/graduate school to which the student belongs, please send an email containing 1) the student’s name, 2) your preferred interview date, 3) the content of the interview, 4) the date on which the footage will be used, and 5) the applicant’s information (including contact information) to the Press Section, Public Relations Division, Department of Planning at (houdou[at]office.osaka-u.ac.jp).

Points of Consideration

Please keep in mind the following points when requesting an interview:

  1. Please do not perform any activity that would impede education and research activity at the university.
  2. The university may refuse your request depending on its content. In particular, the university will not accept requests for interviews that would use any footage for business profit such as commercials and advertisements, as well as requests involving actions that would go against public order and standards of decency.
  3. As a rule, interviews of university members are free of charge, but if it is deemed that the content of the interview would cause significant burden, economic or otherwise, to university faculty/staff, you may be charged a fee to conduct your interview.
  4. Please follow any instructions given by university faculty/staff when conducting your interview. Also, in order to maintain safe and appropriate management of the university, the university may impose conditions on the grant of permission, and may revoke permission and/or request that you cancel the interview.
