Application form: Takemi Program in International Health Application 2026 - 2027

 ◆日本医師会を通じて応募する場合の応募要項

① 派遣期間：2026 年 8 月～2027 年 6 月（約 11 ヶ月）

② 募集定員：2 名まで

③ 派遣費用：往復旅費、滞在費の一部として、1人当たり500万円を支給

④ 応募資格：原則として、応募時点において次に掲げる要件をすべて満たしている者

(1)40 歳未満の医師または保健医療分野の研究者

(2)日本国籍を有し、日本在住である者

(3)修士課程を修了している者 ※ 6 年制の医学部等は修士相当とみなします。※応募時点で修士課程修了見込みの場合は対象外となります。

(4)TOEFLiBTもしくは IELTSのスコア証明書を提出できる者 （参考：ハーバード大学での基準 TOEFL iBT 100 以上、IELTS 7.0 以上）

(5)次に該当する者

　1)  国際保健、公衆衛生、医療政策、医療倫理、社会医学等に関わる分野に貢献する意思を有する者

　2)  プログラム修了後、上記分野で日本医師会の研究活動に依頼に応じて協力できる者

※ 併願／併給可。ただし、他の奨学金との併給は、武見フェローとして本プログラムに所属する場合に限り認めます。

⑤ 応募書類

(1)カバーレター（和・英、各 A4 判 1 枚）

※カバーレターには研究概要、出願中／受給予定の他の奨学金を含めること

(2)研究計画書（和・英、各 A4 判 5 枚以内）

  1) テーマ

  3) 社会的意義/関連性

  4) データ（フェロー開始前に分析に用いるデータを要収集）

  5) 研究方法  

  6) ハーバード大学で研究を行う必要性

(3)英文推薦状 3 通（推薦者 3 名）

※推薦者について補足事項

・ 所属機関の長が応募者となる場合、推薦者は問わない（学長推薦がなくても良い）が自薦は不可

(4)履歴書（和・英）

(5)英文著書、英語論文リスト（主要論文を 1、2 編添付）

(6)TOEFL iBTもしくはIELTS のスコア証明書

(7)日本における連絡先（自宅および勤務先、和文)

Takemi International Health Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

FY2026 Application Guidelines

2.    Dispatch Period: August 2026 to June 2027 (Approx. 11 months)

3.    Number of Fellowships: Up to two

4.    Grant Amount: The amount of 5,000,000 yen per applicant will be provided as part of the round-trip and accommodation expenses.

5.    Eligibility

   i.    Applicants must be medical doctors or researchers in the field of health and medical science under 40 years of age at the time of application.

   ii.   Applicants must be Japanese nationals and reside in Japan.

   iii.  Applicants must have a master’s degree.

Graduates of a six-year medical program are considered to hold an equivalent qualification.
Those who are expected to complete a master’s degree at the time of application are not eligible.

  iv.    Applicants must submit an official score of TOEFL iBT or IELTS.

Reference: The standard scores at Harvard University are over 100 for TOEFL iBT and over 7.0 for IELTS.

  v.    Those who demonstrate a commitment to contributing to fields related to international health, public health, medical policy, medical ethics, or social medicine.

Applicants who are able to cooperate with the research activities of the Japan Medical Association (日本医師会) in the above-mentioned fields upon request after completing the program.

6.    Application Period: Monday, 1 September 2025 to Sunday, 30 November 2025

7.    Required Documents

  i.   Cover Letter

     ・  A cover letter that includes a summary of the applicant’s research and information on any other fellowship or grants currently applied for or expected to be received.

     ・ The cover letter must be written in both Japanese and English on A4-sized paper.

ii.    Research Proposal

          ・   The research proposal must be written in both Japanese and English and must not exceed five pages (A4 size) in each language.

     　 ・   The research proposal must include the following seven components:

          1)    Research theme

          2)    Objective

          3)    Social significance and relevance of the study

          4)    Data (A collection of data to be used for analysis prior to the start of the fellowship.)

          5)    Research methodology

          6)    The reason for conducting research at Harvard University

          7)    Other remarks, if any

iii.      Three letters of recommendation in English.

Recommendations may be provided by individuals regardless of their professional title; however, self-nomination is not acceptable.

In the case of an applicant who is the head of an institution, a recommendation letter from the university president is not required.

However, a recommendation from a senior academic or administrative officer is strongly preferred. Self-nomination is not acceptable.

  iv. CV in both Japanese and English.

  v.  List of publications in English and 1-2 main articles.

  vi.  An official score certificate of TOEFL iBT or IELTS. 

  vii.  Contact information in Japan (both home and office addresses), written in Japanese.
