◆応募資格
- ① 日本国籍保有者、または永住者で、留学出立年度末に38歳以下の者。
- ② 医師資格（MD）を有し、かつ博士号（PhD）を保有するまたはPhD取得を目指す大学院博士課程在籍者。
- ③ 国内在住で、2年以上の留学を受け入れる海外の学術研究機関が内定している者。
- ④ 募集する留学出立年度内（4月1日～翌年3月31日）に海外に出立できる者。
- ⑤ 所属大学、病院など、所属する機関長からの推薦を受けられる者（但し、PhD未取得者は在籍する大学院研究科長の推薦が必須）。推薦者の推薦は1名限り。
- ⑥ 留学中の年間収入が本奨学金を除いて600万円以下の者。
◆助成概要
- ①滞在費年600万円を4年間助成する。
- ②海外渡航費往復60万円、および海外渡航支度金100万円を助成する
- ③ 留学1年半経過後に3年目以降の支援継続可否を再審査する。
- ④ 毎年新たに10件を助成対象とする。

◆ Eligibility
ⅰ. Applicants must be Japanese nationals or permanent residents of Japan.
Applicants must be 38 years old or younger when they depart from Japan for research abroad.
ⅱ. Applicants must hold MD (Doctor of Medicine)
In addition, applicants must have already obtained a doctoral degree or be currently enrolled in a doctoral program and expected to receive their degree.
ⅲ. Applicants must be residents of Japan and have been accepted by an overseas academic research institution for a study period of two years or more.
ⅳ. Applicants must be able to depart for their research abroad between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028
Ⅵ. Applicants are required to submit a recommendation; recommenders include deans or directors of the applicant’s graduate school or research institution.
ⅶ. Only individuals whose annual income, excluding this scholarship, remain below JPY 6 million during their overseas stay are eligible to apply.
ⅶ. Applicants receiving other major study abroad grants (JPY 6 million or more per year) from other institutions or foundations are not eligible.
◆Funding Details
ⅰ. This foundation allocates JPY 6 million per year for living expenses for up to 4 years.
ⅱ. This foundation allocates JPY 600,000 for travel expenses (return ticket), and expenses for preparing for overseas research.
ⅲ. After 18 months of overseas study, the eligibility for continued support beyond the third year will be re-evaluated.
ⅳ. Number of Grants: Approximately 10 applicants
