Application Period: Tuesday, 1 Apr 2025 to Saturday, 31 May 2025
Those eligible:
Researchers, and graduate students enrolled in doctoral programs at universities or laboratories in Japan.
Not eligible: Researchers and students enrolled in master’s programs.
*Note*
This program is for humanities and social sciences such as law, economics, sociology, and culture, related to information and communication.
Total Grant Amount: The maximum grant allocated per project is 2,000,000 yen.

*Overseas Study Abroad Assistance (Long term)
Application Period: Tuesday, 1 Apr 2025 to Saturday, 31 May 2025
Field: Sciences, Engineering/ Humanities that promote the spread of ICT
Those eligible:
This program is open to researchers, and doctoral students aged 40 and under affiliated with universities and research institutions in Japan.
*Note*
Not eligible: Graduate students with master’s program.
This program requires a recommendation from the Dean of the graduate school/ Supervisor of the affiliated institution
This program needs a letter of invitation or a statement confirming your participation from overseas universities.
Grant amount: Accommodation expenses (up to US$80 per day)
Round-trip travel expenses (economy class)

We accept applications throughout the year.
Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed every two months.
The upcoming deadline is 1 June, followed by 1 August.

Applicants must have a recommendation from the head of their institution.
