国際交流助成

◆助成候補者資格

対象技術分野に従事する研究者、大学院生（国籍不問）で、以下の条件を満たす方

［1］ 2026年3月31日現在で、原則として35歳以下であること。（ただし、特別な推薦理由がある場合は40歳以下でも可）

［2］ 次のいずれかに該当し、本助成により、顕著な研究交流成果を期待できる方

1)  国外で実施される国際研究交流学会等に参加する国内の大学または公的研究機関等に在籍する研究者で、原則として、

　  国際研究学会等において研究論文を発表する方（研究者等の派遣）

2)  国外の大学や公的研究機関との共同研究やインターンシップ等に派遣される研究者で、受け入れ先の同意文書が得られる方　（研究者等の派遣）

3）国内で実施される国際研究学会等に参加する、国外の大学または公的研究機関等に在籍する研究者等で、国際研究学会等において研究論文を発表する方（研究者等の招へい）

　　　国際会議参加 (渡航) 時期が募集対象期間であること
　　　投稿アブストラクトを添付のこと

以下の書類を事務局あてに提出

1)  研究者等の派遣：

　　様式-A
　　「国際交流助成候補者推薦書 国際共同研究・国際研究集会へ派遣」

2) 研究者等の招へい：

　　様式-B
　　「国際交流助成候補者推薦書 国際研究集会・国際共同研究に招へい」

［3］ 推薦者

　　1） 研究者等の派遣：
　　大学においては、主任教授､学科長または指導教授等、公的研究機関においては、研究室長または研究部長等の派遣元責任者

　　2） 研究者等の招へい：
　　招へい研究者等の受入れ責任者で、上記 1) の推薦者に準ずる方または国際研究集会等の実施責任者

［4］推薦件数

　　推薦者1名につき、原則として推薦数は通期で1件とする。同一の国際学会等に複数の推薦の場合は優先順位をつけること。

Marubun Research Promotion Foundation 

International Exchange Grant

Outline

The Marubun Research Promotion Foundation aims to support and promote research exchange activities between young Japanese and international researchers in the fields of industrial technology and related areas. It provides financial assistance for overseas and domestic travel, as well as participation fees (e.g., registration costs) for attending international symposia, conferences, or collaborative research projects, both in Japan and abroad. 

Grant Details

Total Amount of Grants

20 million yen
(Up to 400 thousand yen per a case for attending symposium/conference and up to 800 thousand yen per case for dispatching international collaborative research shorter than 2 months)

Number of Grants

Approximately 80 cases

Time Period subject to Subsidy

As a general rule, a fiscal year is divided into 3 terms. The first term starts from April 1 and ends on July 31.

The second term starts from August 1 and ends on October 31, and the third term starts from December 1 and ends on March 31 next year.

Applicants who plan to travel each term, shall apply for the grant by one month before the start of each term.

1. The 29th (FY2025) Selection Target Technical Fields:

(1)  Integrated Electronics and Information System Application

(2)  Optoelectronics

(3)  Advanced Materials, Devices and Systems

(4)  Energy and Environmental Electronics

(5)  Biotechnology and Medical Electronics

1. Application Period:

(Note: Applications for Phase 1 and 2 have already been closed.)

1. Grant Candidate Qualification (Eligibility)

1) Domestic or overseas researchers or graduate students who are affiliated with universities or research institutions who major in Technical Fields

2) As of March 31, 2026, aged 35 or below

(Exceptions may be considered under special circumstances for those up to 40.)

3)   Those who meet any of the following criteria and are expected to achieve significant research exchange outcomes through this grant.

(1)  Researchers affiliated with domestic universities or public research institutions participating in international conferences held abroad, who, in principle, will present a research paper at the event (sending a researcher)

(2)  Researchers dispatched to overseas universities or public research institutions for collaborative research or an internship, who have obtained written consent from the host institution (sending a researcher)

(3)  Researchers affiliated with overseas universities or public research institutions participating in international conferences held in Japan, who will present a research paper at the event (inviting a researcher)

[1] Recommender:

Sending a Researcher

-      At universities: Department chair, principal professor, or supervising professor.

-      At public research institutions: Laboratory director, research director , etc.

Inviting a Researcher

-      An individual responsible for hosting the invited researcher, who is equivalent to the recommender described above or who is responsible for organizing international research meetings and similar events.

[2] Number of Recommendations:
One recommender may submit one recommendation.

Submit the following documents to the secretariat division of the foundation.
