国際交流助成

【応募資格】：下記の諸条件をいずれも満たす日本に国籍を有する者、又は日本への永住が許可されている者

• 1. １９９３年４月１日以降出生の者、但し医学部等６年制学部卒業者は１９９１年４月１日 以降出生の者
• 2. 博士号を有するか、またはそれと同等以上の研究業績を有する者
• 3. 出立から1年間の年収※が７００万円以下の者
•     ※給与に奨学金や助成金が補填されている場合はそれらを含まない。
• 4. ２０２７年１月１日から１２月３１日の間に出立し、
• 連続して３ヵ月～１１ヵ月以内の 海外留学を受け入れる大学等学術研究機関が決定している者

【応募対象外】

1. 過去に当財団の海外留学助成に採択され、助成金を受領した者

2. 学生として海外の大学又は大学院へ留学する者

3. 通算２年以上研究留学の経験がある者

4. 民間企業に所属する研究者

また国内外問わず、他機関・他財団のとの重複受領は認めない。

【助成金額および件数】

支度金および留学期間中の滞在費として、１件８３万円／月以内とする

【助成期間】

留学開始日から留学終了日までとする。

【推薦者】

（１）大学関係

　　　総合および複合大学：大学院研究科長（または学部長）

　　　　　　　　　（注１)同一の研究科、学部の場合はいずれか１件の推薦とする。

　　　　　　　　　（注２)大学附属病院に所属の場合、原則医学研究科長（医学部長）の推薦とする。

　　　②単科大学：学長

　　    ③財団が承認した大学附置研究所等：代表責任者

(２）大学以外の研究機関：当財団が承認した研究機関の代表責任者

The Uehara Memorial Foundation

The Uehara Memorial Foundation provides grants for research abroad, lasting from 3 to 11 months, in fields related to the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of diseases.

[Division: Integration of Life Science with Other Disciplines]

Interdisciplinary research that integrates life science with fields such as information science, mechanics, and material science, aimed at creating new technologies for health and medical care. This category targets research projects with the potential to dramatically transform existing academic frameworks and achieve breakthrough development.

Overseas Research Grant for Early-Career Researchers II

[Category: Interdisciplinary Research between Life Sciences and Other Fields]

Applicants must be Japanese nationals or hold permanent residence in Japan, and must meet all the following criteria:

Eligibility

１. Applicants must have been born on or after April 1, 1993. However, graduates of six‑year undergraduate programs, such as medicine, may have been born on or after April 1, 1991.

２. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or be expected to obtain one by April 2027

３. Applicants' annual income for the one-year period starting from their departure must not exceed JPY 7 million.

Note: Scholarships and grants are excluded from this calculation.

４. Applicants must be able to depart for their research abroad between January 1, 2027, and December 31, 2027, and must have already secured admission from a university or other academic institution for a continuous program lasting from 3 to 11 months

Non-eligibility

1. Those who have previously received this grant

2. Those who intend to enroll in a university or graduate school outside of Japan as students

3. Those who have a total of two years or more of research experience outside Japan

4. Researchers affiliated with for‑profit organizations

*Concurrent receipt of other grants, whether domestic or international, is not permitted.

 Grant Amount and Number of Grants

The Uehara Memorial Foundation allocates up to JPY 830,000 per month to cover relocation costs and one year of living expenses.

Approximately 20 in total, including Overseas Research Grant for early-career researchers Ⅰ

Grant Period

The grant period shall be from the start date to the end date of study abroad.

Note: As a general rule, changes to the grant period are not permitted after selection

Letters of Recommendation　

As a general rule, a recommendation must be from the applicant's home institution. A single recommender may nominate one applicant for the "Life Sciences" category and one applicant for the "Interdisciplinary Research between Life Sciences and Other Fields" category.

Recommenders should be as follows

(1) Comprehensive and multidisciplinary universities: Dean of the Graduate School which the applicant is affiliated.

　*Only one applicant may be nominated from the same graduate school.

　*If the applicant is affiliated with a university hospital, the nomination must, in principle, be submitted by the dean of the graduate school of medicine or the faculty of medicine.

(1) Single-faculty universities: President

(2) University-affiliated research institutes and similar organizations approved by the foundation: Representative Director

(3) University-wide organizations, such as research centers and research institutes:

(4) Research institutions other than universities: The Director or Head of the institution.
