Born in 1978 in Gunma prefecture, Associate Professor KANDA graduated from the Japanese History Department, Faculty of Letters and the Department of Advanced Social and International Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo, where he received his Ph.D. His areas of expertise are Japan Political and Diplomatic History and International Relations. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law at Niigata University. Assoc. Prof. KANDA has written various works, including Transformation of Cold War Structure and Japanese Foreign Policy Towards China (Iwanami Shoten, 2012).
