From the Region to the World - The Challenge of Creating a New Soccer Club (Entrepreneurship Speaker Series)

2016-10-17 (Mon) 18:00 - 19:30

On October 17, we'll welcome President of Imabari Yume Sports, Mr. YANO Masafumi, to speak with us. Mr. Yano was the captain of his soccer team during his time as a university student, after which he spent 10 years working for Goldman Sachs following his graduation. Afterwards, he worked at start-up businesses and returned to his hometown in Shikoku, but a fateful meeting with OKADA Takeshi, former head coach of the Japan National Soccer Team, led to him managing the FC Imabari Soccer Club. Mr. Yano is attempting to build a professional soccer club and revitalize the region in an unprecedented form. We would like to invite not only those who are interested in soccer, professional sports management, regional revitalization, forestry, start-up businesses, and foreign-owned corporations, but also those who are simply interested in the challenge itself.
