Nature Walk #16 -- Fall in the Machikaneyama Area (Toneyama/Nakayama Pond)

We will be holding a fall nature observation session on the Toyonaka campus. This is a great chance to experience nature in the middle of the city, from the changing leaves, to the cute little flowers, to the smell of wet earth, to the light and wind coming through the trees. Please join us!

Nature Walk #16 -- Fall in the Machikaneyama Area (Toneyama/Nakayama Pond)

Dates: Day 1- Saturday, October 8; Day 2 - Saturday, October 22 (the same content will be delivered on both days)

Time: 13:30 ~ 15:30 (Reception will begin at 13:00)

Attendance Fee: Free

Capacity: 20 individuals/day (If the number of applications exceeds capacity, successful applicants will be chosen by lottery. As a rule, only junior high schools students and up may attend this seminar.)

Meeting Place: The Museum of Osaka University (Toyonaka Campus)

• If you're applying by return postcard, please include (1) your name, (2) your age (20s, 30s, etc.), (3) your address, (4) your telephone number, (5) your e-mail address, and (6) the day you wish to attend (either 10/8 or 10/22, or no preference) and send the postcard to the address listed below.

* If the number of applications exceeds capacity, successful applicants will be selected via a lottery. Applicants will not be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

* We will not be accepting applications by phone or fax.

* Each application may include up to two individuals. 

Application results: If a lottery is used to decide successful applicants, results will be announced on Friday, September 16.

Program:

13:30 - Let's Go for a Nature Walk!

Our lecturer will explain about spots that she has visited and carefully chosen prior to the lecture as well as plants that will catch her attention during this nature walk.

During the day, we'll also tour the Machikane Shugakukan at the Museum of Osaka University.

15:00 - Talk session at the Kaitokudo for the 21st Century Studio

15:30 - Seminar ends

*The seminar will be held even in light rain. If the rainfall is moderate, we will be holding a talk session related to Flowers on Campus in the Kaitokudo for the 21st Century Studio. We'll view slides of the abundance of plants that can be seen on the Toyonaka, Suita, and Minoh campuses, as well as how to become closer with nature and plants in mountainous rural areas.
