FD SEMINAR: “Digitizing EFL Materials for an English for General Academic Purposes (EGAP) Online Course"

2016-6-9 (Thu) 15:00 - 16:00

This FD Seminar will report on efforts to digitize English teaching materials and build courseware for classes. We will discuss instructional design for online courses, copyright, authoring tools (e.g.: Adobe Captivate), the Quality Matters (TM) Program, and more.

In recent years, ICT has been officially introduced to university language education, and at Osaka University, there are a number of programs being implemented such as CALL, e-learning, and active learning using digital devices. In this Faculty Development Seminar, we will report on efforts to digitize English teaching materials and build courseware for the classroom, as well as offer suggestions on the role of future English education. We will discuss topics such as instructional design for online courses, copyright, authoring tools (e.g.: Adobe Captivate), the Quality Matters (TM) Program, and more while taking a look at actual examples of teaching materials created by the presenters.
