Seminar title: Experiencing Sight of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Lecturer: NAGAI Yukie (Specially Appointed Associate Professor, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University)

Autism spectrum disorders had previously been thought to have been problems with societal capacity, but through research in recent years, it's been found that the cause is found at the sensory and motion levels through hyperesthesia and hypoesthesia. In this course, we'll learn about the unique way in which things are seen to those with autism spectrum disorders, and through experiencing this way of viewing the world for ourselves, we'll discuss why individuals with these disorders are burdened with communication difficulties and how we can give them truly useful support.
