The 8th CoMIT Seminar

2015-11-14 (Sat) 13:30 - 16:00

We will be holding a seminar featuring Dr. Jane Kaye, Professor, Oxford University, who is well known for governance on genome research.

Proactive medical research through citizens and patients is becoming more and more important in order for research to be both continuous and reliable. For this reason, with regards to informed consent, methods employing new approaches for acquiring research participants, such as dynamic consent, are being developed. These methods involve having the patients insert their own data. Even in Japan, these approaches have begun to be utilized at Osaka University, in addition to other research institutions. At this seminar, we'll introduce the approaches at Osaka University and the University of Oxford, after which we'll have an exchange of opinions between individuals in Japan with an interest in this subject.

(This guest lecture and panel discussion will take place in English. Anyone may attend, and prior registration is not required.)
