Speaker: SAKAI Takayoshi (Professor, Graduate School of Dentistry, Osaka University)

Topic: The Function of Saliva and Oral Care for Dry Mouth

Individuals with dry mouth are likely to get aspiration pneumonia, so we perform oral care on patients with dry mouth. Generally, it is said to be more difficult to clean the inside of the mouths of those with dry mouth than those of healthy individuals, and the risk of pneumonia is high. I'd like to provide you with a look at actual problems occurring in the airway, and explain in an easy-to-understand format the relationship between the function of saliva and prevention of pneumonia. We'll also master salivary gland massage techniques in order to protect against bad breath and gum disease.

To apply, go to the Asahi Culture Center website.
