OSIPP Inamori Foundation Endowed Chair Specially Appointed Professor YABUNAKA Mitoji Open Classroom - "The Future of Japanese Foreign Diplomacy - Problems and Prospects"

2015-10-13 (Tue) 13:00 - 14:30

The OSIPP Inamori Foundation Endowed Chair will be holding the 2nd Open Classroom by Specially Appointed Professor YABUNAKA Mitoji. In addition to students, anyone with an interest in foreign diplomacy is welcome to attend. Let's think about foreign diplomacy together with Professor Yabunaka. We hope to see you there.

70 years after World War II, the historical awareness of the government and the necessity of legislation regarding national security are being fiercely debated, but on the other hand, the world is showing signs of tumult. In these times of hostility between Japan and China and Korea's lean towards China, a leaders' summit between Japan, China, and Korea has suddenly appeared on the schedule. Former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs YABUNAKA Mitoji, who is well-versed in the ins and outs of foreign diplomacy, will analyze whether Japan can break away from its Galapagos-like position in the world and respond to the movement of the world, all while discussing foreign diplomacy together with attendees.

* We will also be holding a social gathering with Professor YABUNAKA after the Open Classroom.
