Lab Café for the Railway Arts Festival #5 -- Recruiting Support Staff for the Exhibition "Alternative Train"

2015-10-7 (Wed) 19:00 - 21:00

Railway Arts Festivals, featuring the creativity of railways, have been held at Art Area B1, which is inside of a train station, since 2010. In this Railway Arts Festival #5 starting on October 24, we have invited HOMMA Takashi, a photographer who is active in various areas as a producer of the exhibition "Alternative Train." Currently, members of the support staff for the exhibition are being recruited. Prior to the exhibition, a talk will be held as an explanatory session for introducing the appeal of the exhibition and answering questions about management of the exhibition. Those who are interested in joining as support staff members but hesitate to take that step, please feel welcome to stop by.

What is Art Area B1?

The concourse on the 1st basement of the Naniwabashi Station was set up as the Art Area B1 at the time of opening of the Keihan Electric Railway's Nakanoshima Line on October 19, 2008. Starting then, the project to make the station a center of artistic communication commenced.

What is Lab Café?

A major program instituted at Art Area B1 is the "Lab Café," designed and implemented by the Center for the Study of Communication-Design. The Lab Café is an interactive program in which participants have wide-ranging discussions on a variety of topics. The program aims to make the station a communication space in the arts and academia by taking up various themes in philosophy, art, science and technology and providing the general public with chances to be exposed to expertise on those topics.
