Entrepreneurship Speaker Series: Changing Society from Barrier Value -- New Worth in Student Entrepreneurship

Date and time: Tuesday, March 10, 2015 -- 16:00~18:00

Venue: Seminar Room #2, Center for Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Osaka University

Speaker: KISHIDA Nami (Director, Mirairo)

About the speaker:  Born in 1991, Ms. Kishida became interested in business after she lost her father, a venture business entrepreneur, at the age of 12. When she was 16 years old, her mother contracted a heart disease and lost function of the lower half of her body after surgical treatment. Because her mother was restricted to a wheelchair, Ms. Kishida wished to change society in a way that her mother could move around freely and enjoy day-to-day life. She entered the human social services department at Kwansei Gakuin University, while simultaneously becoming a founding member of Mirairo, where she still works today. She has a broad range of duties, ranging from universal design consulting to design production to lectures on methods of care for disabled persons and the elderly. She also currently contributes promotions, columns, and articles as PR manager.
