In this course, I'll be talking about a sleep disorder characterized by loud snoring, pauses in one's breathing when sleeping, and daytime drowsiness, a condition known as sleep apnea syndrome. Falling asleep at the wheel and causing a traffic accident is not the only worry for persons with sleep apnea syndrome. We also know it's involved in various conditions such as hypertension and irregular heartbeat. I'd like to explain about this syndrome, from its complications, diagnosis, through to treatments. My hope is that persons who find they want to sleep so much during they day they can't stand it and persons whose families say their snoring is much too loud, I hope such persons will come and take part in this course.
