3rd Nambu Colloquium -- The Development of Particle Physics and the International Linear Collider (ILC)

2013-12-12 (Thu) 4:20 p.m. - 5:40 p.m.

The Graduate School of Science at Osaka University has run a series of colloquiums bearing the name "Nambu," the surname of Distinguished Professor Yoichiro NAMBU. Today's colloquium has been planned in order to stimulate researchers into promoting greater cross-border science research centered around the research in physics represented by Professor NAMBU.

The organizers hope this colloquium will provide an atmosphere encouraging cross-border discussion among researchers. Students are also cordially invited to attend this colloquium.
Venue: Room H701, Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University
Light refreshments will be offered at the communication space in front of the Room H701 from 3:50 p.m.
Lecturer: KOMAMIYA Sachio, Director, International Center for Elementary Particle Physics, The University of Tokyo
Lecture title: The Development of Particle Physics and the International Linear Collider (ILC)
Message from Professor Komamiya:
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) discovered Higgs boson in July 2012 and the discovery of Higgs boson is called "The July Revolution." ILC aims for a paradigm shift beyond the current standard theory.

Date: 2013-12-12 (Thu) 4:20 p.m. - 5:40 p.m.
Organizer: Center for Theoretical Science, Project Research Center for Fundamental Sciences, Osaka University
Registration: Not necessary.
