Sustainability Café 2012 -- "Urban Structure and Environmental Sustainability"

What is sustainability? How can we achieve it? As an activity to promote sustainability, the On-site Research Center for Sustainability Design of the Graduate School of Engineering is holding this Sustainability Café 2012 on Saturday, March 24.

There is no charge for attending this cafe. Please feel free to drop by and enjoy the café if you're out for a Saturday walk in the Nakanoshima area or on your way home from work.


Topic of this café:

The concept of a compact city as a sustainable urban structure in a mature society is attracting attention. Based on the 2010 national population census which concluded that the Kansai was facing a decline in population, the guest speaker OGAWA Hiroki, Faculty of Systems Engineering, Wakayama University, will explain the relationship between changes in population distribution and city structure by making use of a geographic information system (GIS).
