Interpretation & Translation
This workshop, a part of Translation Studies, will take a look at the basics of interpretation and translation theory and consider relevant points of the challenges facing them and linguistic education. In addition, participants will be able to actually experience training methods being adopted for domestic and international interpreters and see their relationship to Japanese [language] education. Moreover, the current situation regarding education for interpretation and translation as well as research in interpretation and translation in both Thailand and Japan will be introduced in addition to a discussion concerning the future of translation research in Thailand.
This workshop is mainly intended for those involved in translation in Japanese language education or those considering practical use for such. Instructors already involved in or teaching translation classes are very welcome.
As noted below, this workshop will take place at Chiang Mai University in Thailand.

1st Day -- Friday, March 9
