Gender Equality Promotion Seminar -- Comparing Osaka Prefecture University and Osaka University

The 2nd Osaka University Gender Equality Promotion Seminar for 2011 will be held on Tuesday, March 6.

TAMA Yasuko, Professor and Director of the Center for Women in Research at Osaka Prefecture University, will speak about specific measures for promoting gender equality by comparing Osaka Prefecture University and Osaka University with regard to support for female researchers and gender equality promotion approaches. Osaka Prefecture University has been implementing a variety of measures into practice under the program "Model Program to Nurture Support for Female Researchers."

In this seminar, the Research Support System adopted at Osaka University will be introduced. Participants will review Osaka University's approaches through comparison with those implemented at Osaka Prefecture University.

Open discussion time has also been scheduled. This is a good opportunity for considering systems that we can adopt and how the systems should be improved.

Individuals working while raising children or taking care of family members, students going into the workforce in the near future, and individuals interested in learning about approaches at other universities are cordially invited to this seminar.
