Osaka University & Osaka Gas: Academic Cooking, Vol. 17 -- Burning Love, Scandinavian Food

2012-2-8 (Wed) 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Kaitokudo for the 21st Century and Osaka Gas have been sponsoring a series of new type of lectures, "Academic Cooking" lectures. These lectures consist of a lecture on a particular food followed by the cooking and eating of that food.

The 17th "volume" of Academic Cooking will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. FURUYA Daisuke, Associate Professor at the Research Institute for World Languages, will give the lecture.

Love and its expression is not limited to method, time, or place. How has love been expressed in ingredients and meals? Let's consider love in the month of St. Valentine's Day, a day when people declare their love.

Participants will look back at famous love stories in history and literature with the lecturer and take a look at love hot enough to melt ice while eating home-cooked meals from the freezing northern areas of Europe.
