OSSIP Policy Forum

2011-11-4 (Fri) 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Osaka University's Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) has held a series of policy forum where persons can exchange opinions with practitioners and intellectuals active on the front lines in public policies.

In conjunction with the Machikane Festival, the organizers have invited the actor SHIOYA Shun, who has been actively involved in assisting disaster-stricken areas and developing countries, to present a forum at Osaka University on Friday, November 4.

This lecture will be jointly held by the OSIPP Policies Forum and the student organization OUEST (Osaka University Unit Empowerment Engineering Sustainable Social Technology). OUEST plays a role in assisting developing countries. Moreover, OUEST, with Osaka University students and the combination of private sector and university, aims to have a social impact on the Kansai and developing countries by supporting the creation of renewable technology that will empower both regions. In this forum, participants discuss the current situation in developing countries and the challenges facing them as they think about what can be done now for developing countries and how to bridge the gap between scholarship and practice.
