77th GLOCOL Seminar -- "A Message for those who aspire to Solve the Conflicts of Africa and construct Peace. Peace-building through local on-site Humanitarian Support Activities"

2011-10-14 (Fri) 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

77th GLOCOL Seminar & FIELDO Global Expert Lecture Series 8

UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) staff member YONEKAWA Masako has been invited to speak at this seminar. Ms. Yonekawa's background includes a variety of overseas experience -- exchange student in England, volunteer work in Israel after which she participated in the DRC [Democratic Republic of the Congo], Rwanda, and elsewhere in peace-building activities and among the refugees and conflicts in those areas. Based on what she has seen with her own eyes, she will seek to bridge the gap between what is actually taking place in Africa and the problem of how unaware we Japanese are of our relationship to these conflicts.

Commentator: Virgil HAWKINS, Associate Professor, Osaka School of International Public Policy
