Kansai Science 2012 for Female Junior & Senior High School Students

Applications will be accepted until Sunday, November 6, 2011 for Day 4 and Sunday, January 9, 2012 for Day 5.
Under the sponsorship of Osaka University, the Kansai Science 2012 for Female Junior & Senior High School Students will be held at Osaka University and four other universities in Kansai in a five-part series beginning Saturday, September 10. This event is intended for female students interested in science and conducting experiments. In this event, participants will visit advanced laboratories, conduct experiments there, make presentations about the experiments, listen to explanations of experiments from female researchers and university students. Following this event, they will be able to connect with each other by exchanging information with upper class students and other participants through web sites and participate in a variety of activities. As for the experiments, participants will be able to choose from several themes in biology, chemistry, physics, and astronomy fields.
Quota: 150 female students and 50 teachers and parents who will accompany them
Participation fee: There is no charge for Day 1 ~ Day 4, but ¥4,500 yen for Day 5 (the fee includes accommodations and meals)

• Experiments, presentations, commendation ceremony for senior high school students, career counseling, get-together, and closing
