Part I: Fieldwork, Internship and Experiential Learning Design Office's Global Expert Lecture 7

As part of the GLOCOL subject, "Global Health Environment,"  a seminar, "Working for UNICEF -- Roles and Activities of UNICEF in the Field of Health Care" will be held on Thursday, July 14.

The guest speaker is KUNII Osamu of UNICEF Somalia. After working for NGOs and universities in the field of medical care in remote areas and working for the Foreign Ministry and JICA in the field of official development assistance, Mr. Kunii is currently working for the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).

He will speak about how he got to work for UNICEF and the roles and activities of UNICEF and United Nations in the field of health care by making comparisons with those of UNICEF and those of NGO and JICA. For two months after the Great East Japan Earthquake, he was involved in support activities as a field manager of UNICEF Japan and a disaster medical assistance adviser to Miyagi Prefecture. He will also talk about these activities and what he learned from the activities.

Note: Although this seminar is part of the GLOCOL subject, "Global Health Environment," it is open to the public.
