24th Clinical Philosophy Seminar

2011-4-9 (Sat) 1:00 p.m. - 5:50 p.m.

The Clinical Philosophy Laboratory at Osaka University's Graduate School of Letters will hold its 24th seminar on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Since the first clinical philosophy seminar in October, 1995 as an ideological movement, clinical philosophy has developed in various forms and is even discussed in hospitals, schools, and cafes. However, these seminars were suspended after the 19th seminar in July 2001. The seminars resumed in December 2009 with the 20th seminar. Since then, the 21st seminar in February 2010, the 22nd in July 2010, and 23rd on September 1, 2010 have been held, focusing on education.

We've determined to hold the Clinical Philosophy Seminar on a quarterly basis starting this year. It's important to discuss clinical philosophy in various forums such as philosophy cafes and Nakanoshima Philosophy Collège; however, we want to maintain a firm foothold for research activities at universities and make presentations for research we've conducted there.

It is hoped that this seminar will be a place for people interested in clinical philosophy inside and outside the university to think about activities of clinical philosophy on a regular basis. Interested individuals as well as undergraduates and graduate students are welcome to attend.
