Symposium -- Environmental Innovation Design for Sustainable Society

2011-2-9 (Wed) 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Office of the Center of Environmental Innovation Design for Sustainability (CEIDS) will hold a symposium, "Environmental Innovation Design for Sustainable Society" on Wednesday, February 9.

The key to a low-carbon sustainable society is to effectively connect social vision with promising research seeds (technology, systems, and system design), thereby creating fields of research with the potential to dynamically promote social innovation.

CEIDS was established in October 2010 and promotes the nurturing personnel who will take a lead in conducting interdisciplinary research in environmental innovation and the creation of a sustainable society through connecting social vision with various research seeds. In this symposium, in the wake of the inauguration of the center, researchers and specialists within and from outside Osaka University will discuss, from interdisciplinary viewpoints, the significance and possibility of environmental innovation design for achieving a low-carbon sustainable society.

The organizers look forward to seeing many in attendance, including faculty, staff and students.
