7th Behavioral Economics Research Center Symposium -- The Economics of Marriage and Childbirth

The Institute of Social and Economic Research will hold its 7th Behavioral Economics Research Center Symposium entitled "The Economics of Marriage and Childbirth" on Wednesday, August 25. In previous symposiums, the institute introduced the latest behavioral economics thinking along with specific examples.


In the 6th symposium last year, the two lecturers, DOME Takuo who depicts Smith as a behavioral economics scholar and ONO Yoshiyasu who brought Keynes back into modern economic thinking, discussed remedies for the current recession.


This year's lecturers, KONDO Ayako, whose research examines the long-term impact on graduates and the relationships between economic fluctuations and marriage and childbirth during employment ice ages, and KIMURA Masako, whose research examines the relationships between birthrate and economic growth and family economics, will discuss the economics of marriage and childbirth in this 7th symposium.
