2009 Osaka University Adult Education: Quality Control--Reliability Engineering and Risk Management
2009-10-8 (Thu) - 2009-10-9 (Fri)
Date & Time: October 8, 9:45 a.m. - October 9, 4:45 p.m.
In the manufacturing industries, no longer is a guarantee of product quality enough--quality control is also required in order to satisfy customers! However, the economic downturn of recent years has changed the environment surrounding manufacturing; priority has shifted to cost reduction and manufacturing efficiency due to intense competition, leading to the neglect of compliance with regard to quality control.
Establishment of a stable and dependable manufacturing and sales structure not easily affected by external changes, i.e., risk management, can only be obtained by on-site quality control in order to secure product safety and reliability.
Lecturers for this course will primarily be professors of the Graduate School of Engineering,
Osaka University, who are active in the front-lines. They will explain about quality control and reliability
engineering in the first session and basics and application of risk
management in the second session so that attendants can obtain
practical knowledge.
