The 1st Open Seminar on Environmental Risks -- Issues with Implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity

The Environmental Risk Manager Development Program (Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University) will hold an Open Seminar on environmental risks.
A lecture will be given on the latest topics: the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Tenth Conference of the Parties (COP10) to be held in Nagoya in 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity defined by the UN from the viewpoint of environmental risks, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC), 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) defining goals for greenhouse gas reduction.
Individuals interested in participating in this seminar are cordially invited to make application to do so.

The
involvement of private sectors in implementation of the convention has
been raised as an important issue since COP 8 in 2006. The discussion in this seminar will be on the corporate awareness regarding the loss of biological diversity and the risk of such loss to continued corporate activity.
