Osaka University Alumni Reunion in Fukui! [Application deadline extended to Sunday, August 5]

The "Osaka University Alumni Reunion" will be held on Saturday, August 18. Alumni Reunions are events for alumni and staff from Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies to come together and deepen friendships as an "OU Family." We're pleased to announce that this Alumni Reunion will be held in Fukui for the very first time! We're excited to see many attendees from the Hokuriku region, but all members of the OU Family are more than welcome to attend!

Alumni Lecture - Kei TSUKIYAMA

A 1992 graduate of the School of Letters at Osaka University, Ms. Tsukiyama finished the doctoral program in the Graduate School of Letters, Osaka University, where she majored in modern Japanese history. In 1998, while residing in Fukui City, she made her writing debut with her novel "Naniwa no kaze." Many of her works are set in Edo period Osaka. She is the original author for the NHK Saturday Television Period Drama "Naniwa no hana - Ogata Koan no Jikencho," with other works including "Tenmon Goyo Juichiya," "Terakoya Wakakusa Monogatari," "Miraiki no Bannin," and "Chikamatsu Yorozu-shimatsudokoro," as well as works for children such as "Ozaki-san-chi no Yokai-jikenbo."

An Inuyama, Aichi native, Ms. Ogawa graduated with a Japanese major in the Department of International Culture, School of Foreign Studies, Osaka University in 2008. She entered the Wakayama Broadcasting System in the same year, where she served as an announcer and reporter in education, sports, prefectural government, and municipal government, appearing on "WBS News Kyou Asu" ("WBS News Today/Tomorrow") as a subcaster. She entered Osaka Broadcasting Corporation as an announcer in 2011, where she worked on music, information, and news programs. Making use of her certification as a disaster prevention expert, she also serves as producer and navigator for disaster prevention programs. Ms. Ogawa began working as a freelance announcer in 2016, and currently works as a newscaster for NHK Kanazawa's "Kaga Noto Evening." A talented musician (especially classical and jazz) and practitioner of traditional Japanese dance, she uses her artistic abilities as MC of music events, interviews with artists, and narration.

The application period has ended. However, applications will also be taken at the door, so those who wish to attend should come directly to the venue on the day of the event.

Registration is necessary for this event. Individuals attending may be accompanied by guests.
