Osaka University Leaders Forum 2015-2016

The Osaka University Leaders Forum will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Osaka University Hall. The Leaders Forum, which is to be held for a fourth time, is an event held in order to facilitate exchange between business owners and representatives who graduated from Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies, regardless of generation or field.
After a lecture on the "here and now" of Osaka University and other current topics, attendees will engage in information exchange and networking at the social event to follow. We hope that this opportunity will prove useful in your social business activities.

Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1951, President NISHIO graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Kyoto University in 1975. In 1980, he received his doctorate in Engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University. His specialty is data engineering. He has served as the dean of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at Osaka University, as well as an executive vice president. He took his current position as Osaka University President in August, 2015. His awards include the Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon in 2011. |

Executive Vice President YOSHIKAWA Hideki |

A 1979 graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Osaka University, Executive Vice President YOSHIKAWA received his doctorate from the Graduate School of Medicine at Osaka University in 1983, after which he served as a researcher at Kansas University (USA), an instructor in the Orthopaedics Department, Faculty of Medicine, Osaka University, and the director of the orthopaedics department at the Osaka Medical Center for Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases. In 1999, he began pursuing bone and soft tissue surgical oncology and treatment as a professor at the Orthopaedics Department in the Faculty of Medicine at Osaka University. He served as the Director of the Osaka University Hospital from 2012 until 2014, after which he began at his current position as Executive Vice President of Osaka University in August of 2015. Executive Vice President YOSHIKAWA served as the chairman of the Japanese Orthopaedics Association in 2015. His awards include the Japan Society for Bone and Mineral Research Academic Prize and the Japan Society for Biomaterials Prize. His favorite phrases include "undiscovered talent" and "a place to be oneself." |
