Lecture Overview
40 Years of Excavation in Italy
From the excavation survey of ancient residences in Pompei in 1974, to the excavation of a beach villa near Agrigento in Sicily, the excavation of a large ancient villa on the outskirts of Tarquinia, and finally the ongoing surveys of Somma Vesuviana, a town located 20 miles east of Naples, I'd like to talk about what scientific knowledge and experience I've gained through these 40 years of excavation.
