The 25th YUKAWA Memorial Lectures

The 25th Memorial Lectures in honor of Dr. Hideki YUKAWA, Japan's first Nobel Prize winner, will be held on October 3, 2009 (Saturday) from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.


Venue: SAJI Keizo Memorial Hall, 10th floor, Nakanoshima Center, Osaka University

Intended for: Persons of high school age and older

Capacity of the venue: 190 (the first 190 applicants will be accepted--see how to apply below)

Entrance fee: there is no charge for this event

Sponsor: Yukawa Memorial Office, Museum of Osaka University

Joint Sponsor: Physical Society of Japan in cooperation with Japan Physics Education Society, Kinki


Persons attending will be introduced to the latest findings of physics.



1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

"Taking a look at the missing anti-matter" by SANDA Ichiro, Professor of Physics, School of Engineering, Kanagawa University

3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

"Pursuing the Essence of Earthquakes through Excavation Tomography" by HIRONO Tetsuro, Associate Professor, Space & Earth Science, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University
