Activities |
In fiscal 2005, IPP analyzed the current status of international academic exchange at Osaka University, which until now had been entrusted to the voluntary efforts of individual researchers. IPP has started to utilize the results of such research for strategic enhancement. The outcome of these activities was published as Sekai no naka no Osaka Daigaku: Kokusai kouryuu genjoubunseki houkoku (Osaka Universityfs Place in the World: Report on the Analysis of Current Conditions in International Exchange) and was widely distributed to relevant faculty and staff on campus. Other first year projects of IPP include the promotion internationalization of Osaka University and by conducting a feasibility study of "One-Stop ServiceOffice", for newly arrived international students and scholars, and supporting overseas centers.
In fiscal 2006, major activities are as follows.
- Collect information and data related to international affairs at Osaka University and exchange ideas and opinions with the respective university schools/departments.
- Provide assistance to promote the use of GCN and to facilitate the launching of "One-Stop Service office".
- Undertake support to reinforce the global visibility of Osaka University.
- Provide assistance to the promotion of short-term student exchange with overseas universities.
Under the direction of the International Affairs Board and in collaboration with relevant personnel and organizations in the university, IPP will continue to join in Osaka Universityfs concerted efforts to further promote academic exchange as a university committed to contributing global society and open to international students and scholars.
