GLOCOL Seminar #136 -- Covering the Closed Nation of North Korea: Reporting that Approaches and Produces Evidence

2016-1-12 (Tue) 17:00 - 18:30

In the 2015 edition of the World Press Freedom Index by Reporters Without Borders, North Korea ranked 179th out of 180 countries worldwide (Japan ranked 61st). We've invited ISHIMARU Jiro (Journalist, AsiaPress International) to be our lecturer for this seminar, who will talk to us about just how he has covered North Korea, and what kinds of troubles he has faced in trying to portray the state of the country to both Japan and the rest of the world.

*This seminar is a portion of the Global Collaboration Course "Transcultural Study I" made open to the public.

Attendance is free for this event.

Registration by email is required.
