26th Osaka University Medical Engineering and Informatics Symposium

2014-5-22 (Thu) 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Now that Tokyo Olympics have been decided, the focus is on strengthening young athletes through sports science. Moreover, in the midst of our rapidly aging society, sports science is an important element contributing to living an active and healthy life style. Faced with this setting, in the northern area of Osaka, Osaka University and Minoh City are cooperating on establishing the "Kansai Sports Science and Comprehensive Healthcare Center" as a base for advancing sports and healthcare sciences.

In this symposium, we'll discuss efforts of the Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry regarding the healthcare industry, efforts of Minoh City as well as Osaka University in the Minoh Senba district, examples of new industries we can expect to be created, and, in the midst of increasing globalization, growth that can be expected in sports science and the healthcare industries.
