OSAKAN CAFE: Do you know/remember Astro-Mechanicool?

2014-3-11 (Tue) - 2014-3-16 (Sun)

Just before Expo '70, on September 28, 1968, Astro-Mechanicool, a discotheque, was opened in forward-looking Osaka and became the most popular place for young people. An artist, MUKAI Shuji, was involved in the spatial design of Astro-Mechanicool. Some of his works of art will be on display at Art Area B1 from Tuesday, March 11 to Sunday, March 16.

In line with the exhibition, an Osakan Café will be held on Sunday, March 16. Mr. Kukai will talk about the enthusiasm for things avant-garde at that time and the futuristic spatial design integrated in the inclusion of art with city planning in Osaka.
