2nd Interactive Research Reports on Forming an Asian Recycling Society

2010-2-11 (Thu) - 2010-2-12 (Fri) Miscellaneous

In Asia, each region has diverse culture and life styles that have been formed in relation to natural conditions. Within these cultures and life styles, ideas regarding recycling and sustainability can be found. However, excessive expansion of human activities and globalization has deprived people of their conventional life styles and thoughts. Global environmental problems such as global warming, species extinction, loss of ecological diversity, and the worldwide financial shock have created a new crisis in which these problems are all intricately intertwined. Therefore, new approaches and viewpoints in order to understand and resolve these problems are sought.

Setting the "integration of scholarship" and "new social agreements" as targets, in this seminar we will discuss the results of new research and our approach will reflect the valuable comments, instructions, and opinions from the participants of last year's first workshop.
