Advanced Facilities Initiative -- Osaka University & Tokyo University of Science joint symposium
2010-1-20 (Wed) 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Science, TechnologyThe free electron lasers (FEL) owned by the Institute of Laser Engineering of Osaka University and those of the IR FEL Research Center of Tokyo University of Science have different capabilities in laser wavelength. However, the characteristics of FEL light sources in terms of brightness and intensity and the potential in research and industrial applications differ from those of orbit radiation light that has been widely used as an advanced light source.
Using the term "advanced laser light sources", this symposium aims (1) to look at characteristics of the above facilities and their potential in research and applications in industry, (2) to deepen the understanding of their actual applications in industry and the challenges and expectations for such in the future, and, finally, (3) to promote university-industry cooperation beyond the limitations of technological fields and organizations.
