[Deadline extended to 7/12] Exchange event with Peking University students under the "Japan-China International Solidarity Project on Afforestation and Tree-planting" project

Under the Japan-China International Solidarity Project on Afforestation and Tree-planting *1, a project run by the Japan-China Friendship Center financed by contributions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, a group of Peking University students will visit Osaka University on Wednesday, July 24. In line with their visit, a student exchange event will be held.
Those who are interested in international and/or student exchange are encouraged to apply. This is a great opportunity to interact with students from Peking University in order to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and China and build a positive relationship between the two nations that will continue on into the future!

11:00~11:15 -- Meet at the entrance of Arata Memorial Hall

Students who:
- are interested in international/student exchange,
- want to communicate in English,
- can speak Chinese,
- have an interest in Chinese culture,
- have study abroad experience in China (or plans to study abroad in China), or
- are currently studying abroad from China and want to introduce personal experiences as upperclassmen

*1 - This project aims to reinforce a strategic, mutually-beneficial relationship between Japan and China by cementing better relations with China and activating efforts to solve international challenges through the following endeavors:
1. dealing with environmental issues in China, such as yellow dust that originates from the Asian continent, through afforestation activity, seminars on, inspection of, exchange with, and visits to disaster prevention/environmental protection facilities,
2. promoting public awareness about environmental problems and disaster prevention and Chinese people’s understanding of Japan through Japan-China youth exchange, and
3. contributing to desertification prevention.
