Osaka University Symposium - The Future of Kansai Led by Diversity

2018-2-5 (Mon) 14:00 -

In 2021, Osaka University will celebrate its 90th anniversary. Creating a diverse environment is an important condition for realizing the future vision of Osaka University, which aims to exert a significant presence while working with society to connect “academic approach” and “creating social values.” In 2016-17, Osaka University was chosen for the Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment (Collaboration Type), together with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health, and Nutrition (NIBIOHN), and Daikin Industries, Ltd. Currently, through implementation of the cross-appointment system and joint research, Osaka University is making efforts to form a cycle-oriented female research development cluster in collaboration with industry and government. This symposium will report the results of the university’s efforts and discuss a vision to realize diversity with corporate representatives and practitioners who are taking the initiative to promote diversity.

A society where everyone can realize their potential, contribute to society, and carve out their own future…

Diverse, flexible individuals are  necessary to realize such a society and create sustainable innovation.

Amid the advance in organization and system reforms, the consciousness and sense of values of people who carry them out should be improved.

Changing people’s consciousness will change our future.

To this end, what needs to be done and what can be done?

We'll propose a specific, practical vision to realize a virtuous cycle for creating new values.
