Osaka University Leaders Forum (in Tokyo!)

The Osaka University Leaders Forum is an event held in order to facilitate exchange between business owners and representatives who graduated from Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies.

The 5th Osaka University Leaders Forum will be held in Tokyo for the very first time.

After a lecture on the "here and now" of Osaka University and other current topics, attendees will engage in information exchange and networking at the social event to follow. We hope that this opportunity will prove useful in your social business activities.

柳田特任教授

YANAGIDA Toshio

Prof. YANAGIDA received his master's degree from the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University in 1971, and his doctorate degree in engineering at Osaka University in 1976. He began as a Professor at the Department Bionics, School of Engineering, Osaka University in 1988, after which he served as a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biosignaling, Faculty of Medicine from 1996, and a Dean in the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences before arriving in his current positions as Specially Appointed Professor at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences and Director, Center for Information and Neural Networks (CiNet), NICT. He also began as Director of the Quantitative Biology Center (QBiC), RIKEN in 2011. Prof. YANAGIDA specializes in biophysics. His main topics of research are single-molecule measurements of biomolecules, operating principles of biomolecular machines, and brain memory dynamism.

Some honors given to Prof. YANAGIDA include The Japan Academy Award in 1998, The US Genomic Award in 2010, as well as being named a Person of Cultural Merit in 2013.
