About the Lecturer

TAKEUCHI Noriko (President, Congress Corporation)

A 1986 graduate of the School of Human Sciences at Osaka University, after working at a convention planning company, participated in the founding of Congress Corporation in 1990, and in June 2013, she became the President of the same company. She has presided over a number of projects, including international conferences, events,  and the planning and operation of cultural institutions. Her major accomplishments include The 3rd Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the G8 Summit, and IMF World Bank Group Meetings. Also, in addition to the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) and the observation deck in Roppongi Hills, she has been involved in the operation of more than 80 cultural institutions around the country, including the Knowledge Capital Congress Convention Center, her company's own facility, in Umekita. Currently, she is serving as the representative director for the Japan Convention Management Association, an organizer for the Conference for the Promotion of a Tourism-Oriented Nation, and a member of the Cultural Policy Division, Agency of Cultural Affairs.

Convention Business that Reflects Society

Convention business is gathering attention as a means of economic revitalization. TAKEUCHI Noriko, who heads a company of professionals who support various events from behind the scenes, including international conferences at which leading world figures gather and exhibitions at which the interests of society and prominent issues are focused, will speak to use about what it means to challenge frontiers and what is required of the leaders of the future, all from her own experiences.

Part 2: Round Table

Ms. Takeuchi will have a free talk  with about 10 graduate students from various schools at Osaka University as they try to answer the question "What is a next generation leader?"

What are Osaka University Future Talks?

Leaders who are active in a variety of fields are called as lecturers to speak with us based on various experiences and ways of thinking, and through an atmosphere of casual discussion, we aim to provide next generation leaders with future role models.
