Osaka University Commemorative Lectures on SHIBA ‪Ryōtarō‬ to be held

2013-6-8 (Sat) 1:30 p.m. -

On Saturday, June 8, Commemorative Lectures on SHIBA ‪Ryōtarō‬ are being held in order to commemorate this prolific author who wrote extensively on the concept of Japan and the Japanese people. This year's theme is "Wisdom that spans borders and the spirit of the Japanese people."

The literary critic MIURA Masashi and the President of the International Research Center for Japanese Studies KOMATSU Kazuhiko will present lectures. In addition, Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University UEDA Masaaki, a scholar of Japanese history and a close friend of Shiba Ryōtarō will present a message by means of a "video letter."

The second half of the program will feature a discussion between Mr. Miura, Mr. Komatsu, and Sankei Shimbun editor ISHINO Nobuko.

Hosting this entire event is Osaka Radio announcer OGAWA Mayu.
