Exhibition of items from the National Archives of Japan -- The National Archives are coming to Osaka University!

2013-2-22 (Fri) - 2013-3-9 (Sat)

The Exhibition of items from the National Archives of Japan will be held at the Museum of Osaka University beginning on Friday, February 22. The National Archives of Japan, established in 1971, have been displayed at exhibitions several times at different locations, but so far, only in Tokyo. This first exhibition outside of Tokyo will be held in Osaka and Osaka University will be the first university to hold such an event!

This event is being jointly held by the National Archives of Japan, the Osaka University Archive Repository established in October 2012, and the Museum of Osaka University.

In this exhibition, in addition to a variety of materials ranging from historical materials such as The Constitution of Japan to unexpected familiar items possessed by The National Archives of Japan, materials related to Osaka and Osaka University will be on display. This is a valuable opportunity to get a first-hand view of first-class historical items and to understand why archives should be kept. Individuals interested in historical items and archives are cordially invited to this event.
