Purpose, Outline of Duties, and the Relationship with National Policies

Osaka University Corporation supports Osaka University and conducts education and research in order to answer society's need for education and research at the university level as well as to enhance the standards and promote well-balanced development of our nation's higher education and academic research.

Osaka University Corporation is charged with the following duties: (National University Corporation Law, Article 22)

• To establish a national university and manage it.
• To provide students with support such as counsel on studying, selecting a career, or advice on mental and physical health.
• To conduct research commissioned by a party other than the University, or conduct it together with the party, or to conduct education and research activities in cooperation with parties other than the University.
• To establish open lectures in order to provide people other than students with opportunities to study.
• To share the results of research by the University with the public and promote the usage of such.
• To finance persons involved in a project promoting the use of results of research in technology implemented at the University and which has been specified in an ordinance.
• # To perform duties associated with the above measures.

To answer society's need for education and research at the university level as well as to enhance the standards and promote well-balanced development of our nation's higher education and academic research.
